šŸ„ø 3 Boys, 3 Lessons: Life as a Dad of Three

I thought Iā€™d share the three lessons that have hit home since becoming a father of three. Either that or im using you as a therapy session. either way: enjoy.

1. Embrace the Mess

Everywhere I go, people ask me, ā€œHow does it feel with three boys?ā€ And honestly? My answer is always the same: i feel immensely satisfied.

yes, life with three boys is messy. Itā€™s loud, chaotic, and filled with endless ā€œoopsā€ moments. I canā€™t keep a white shirt clean to save my life.

But you know what? In that mess, Iā€™ve found a sense of deep contentment. Life feels full right now.

iā€™ve resorted to arabic lessons on the dining table with my eldest (they wipe off!)

In Islam, contentment is something weā€™re encouraged to strive for.

Itā€™s not just about putting up with the mess but truly embracing it and finding satisfaction in what Allah has decreed.

Thereā€™s a beauty in the imperfection of it all.

Satisfaction doesnā€™t come from pristine perfection; it comes from accepting and appreciating what Allah has written for us (and HE is Perfect!).

2. The Role of Masculinity: Teaching Strength and Integrity

Having three boys has made me even more aware of my role in teaching them about what it means to be men in a world where that concept is, letā€™s say, under siege.

In a time when masculinity is often misrepresented or downplayed, I feel a heightened responsibility to instill the right qualities in my boys. I want them to know that being a man is about strength balanced with compassion, resilience tempered with humility.

Thereā€™s a saying, ā€œA real man is gentle enough to hold a child and strong enough to protect him.ā€ Thatā€™s the balance Iā€™m aiming to teach (and become).

I want my boys to grow up understanding that true masculinity is about service, strength, and standing firm in your beliefs. Itā€™s about being the type of man who can lead a family, contribute to society, and uphold the values that matter, regardless of the winds of change around him.

3. Financial Motivation: Stepping Up as the Provider

Letā€™s get real for a moment.

Being the dad of three has put a new fire under me when it comes to financial motivation.

In society, talking about money is almost taboo ā€“ itā€™s seen as sleezy or materialistic. But letā€™s be clear, money isnā€™t the goal; itā€™s the means.

Allah is ar-Razzaq, the Ultimate Provider, but weā€™re also given the responsibility to work and provide for our families. And when youā€™re the father of three, letā€™s just say that responsibility feels a bit heavier. In the best way.

Thereā€™s a certain ā€œproviderā€ mindset that kicks in.

Itā€™s that sense of wanting to give them the life they deserve, to step up and take on the role of leader with strength and determination.

Itā€™s like joining the ranks of the old-school dons ā€“ you take care of your own, you make sure theyā€™re safe and supported. Thereā€™s honour in that.

So yes, it means doubling down on the hustle, keeping the financial game strong, and doing it all with dignity. Because when I look at those three faces, I want them to know that their dad stepped up, and thatā€™s a lesson in itself.

So, those are my three big takeaways from life as a dad of three. Embrace the mess, define masculinity, and provide with purpose.

May Allāh bless all the fathers out there stepping up, staying grounded, and keeping it real.

ā˜•ļø The Black Coffee Briefings:

Bullet-point rundown of news, updates, and caffeinated contemplations:

  • I may have found the next big money making side hustle (automation agencies), and i wrote an article about it for you to read here.

  • My personal branding course is still on launch price but the cost will rise soon, lock in now and elevate your brand

  • Random fact: A bolt of lightning contains enough energy to toast 100,000 slices of bread.

Thatā€™s the last word for today. Remember: Embrace the mess, lead with strength, and never shy from the grind.
