Not everything halal is equal 👀
Read this slowly

Assalāmu ‘alaykum 👋
Let me let you into a thought that’s been quietly running my life since recording the last Freshly Grounded episode with Hamza Tzortzis:
“Is this actually pleasing to Allah?”
Not:
“Is this halal?”
“Can I get away with this?”
“Is this technically fine if I word it properly?”
But:
Is this the most pleasing thing to Allah right now?
Because here’s the uncomfortable truth no one likes to admit:
There are levels to halal.
And most of us live on the bare minimum compliance tier.
We treat life like a legal loophole:
✔️ Allowed? Cool, run it.
❌ Clearly haram? Avoid.
But Islam isn’t a courtroom.
There’s a competition of good deeds. A hierarchy of choices.
And sometimes the question isn’t “can I?”
it’s “should I?”
that recalibration is simple, but ruthless.
Before a decision, ask:
What does Allah want from me here?
What’s the higher move?
When you move like that:
decisions get cleaner
anxiety drops
you stop second-guessing yourself
because your compass works again.
Anyway.
Just something I wanted to share with the family.
🤍
